In 1853, the US Navy Commodore Matthew C. Perry visited Japan with four frigates.Japan was in isolation at the time. Perry carried a presidential letter, landed in Japan, and demanded that Japan open a country.At that time, Yokosuka was the town where Perry landed.
The following year, in 1854 Perry visited Japan again to conclude the Japan-US Treaty of Peace.

On June 5, 1951, GREEN was established in Yokosuka City.
